Sea World on the Gold Coast

The next morning after watching the sunset at The Spit and hitting the sack early, we woke up early and watched the sunrise from the same spot. We then drove back down to Main Beach and took quick showers in our swimsuits at the beach showers. Ah, the life of a backpacker.

After getting cleaned up we drove to Sea World. We wanted to be there as soon as they opened so we could have a full day of fun there. No worries about finding a parking spot; we were the very first car there! We got a front row spot and just waited around for the gates to open.

Once we got inside we were like little kids in a candy shop. We immediately bought ourselves each a Sea World t-shirt and started snapping photos.

We sprinted over to where a small tour group (they got early access) was swimming in the water with the dolphins. We climbed aboard a pirate ship to get a good look at the dolphins' tricks.

After watching the dolphins we walked around the park planning our route.

I got a picture with Big Bird!

Next we went to the Ray Reef and touched the stingrays:

Then on to the sharks...

Then the rides!!! I made Rob ride the jet-ski roller coaster with me 3 times!

We saw the little penguin feeding session:

And the polar bear:

Then we took a seat at the dolphin show and watched them do tricks with the trainers:

The weather was beautiful and although this Seaworld pales in comparison to Orlando's, it was still cool and fun to run around like a kid.

After we left the theme park we hit up some outlet shops (Billabong and Quicksilver) and then McDonalds for some internet time.
